On February 8th USA Wrestling announced that Penn State would no longer be hosting the Olympic wrestling trials.
On Wednesday at the Oklahoma State wrestling media availability, Oklahoma State head wrestling coach and two-time Olympic champion John Smith said that Dallas may now be the host of the trials.
“We’ve seen last week that they moved the trials out of Penn State…, I think it’s going to end up,… rumor has it maybe somewhere in Dallas. When? I don’t know. It could be the date they originally had in Pennsylvania. We don’t know if that’s going to change or not. We’ll get word of it pretty quick.”
That original date was April 4th and 5th. Will it end up in Dallas? Who knows? But the best American freestyle wrestler of all time says that’s the rumor.
