Joel Garza is Wrestlingtexas Wrestler of the Week
Joel Garza a junior at Edcouch-Elsa High School, qualified for both UIL state wrestling tournament and the UIL Academic State meet in the same year. Garza is on a small list of athletes to qualify for state in both Academics and Athletics from the valley. Garza started wrestling in Nov. 2017, is ranked in the top ten of his class, he’s been nominated for a National Hispanic Merit Scholar, and planning to study engineering at UT Austin.
