According to Bryant, the school website has already added
pages for both the men’s and women’s teams, but is waiting to finish their
coaching search before they make an official release.

Jarvis Christian has traditionally competed in the Red River Athletic
Conference, which does not have wrestling. Fellow Texas NAIA wrestling programs
Texas Wesleyan and Wayland Baptist both compete in the Sooner Athletic
Conference.

Jarvis’ Mission Statement according to their website is as follows.

Jarvis Christian College is a historically Black liberal arts,
baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ). The mission of the College is to prepare a diverse
population of lifelong learners intellectually, socially, spiritually, and
personally through providing interactive services and using varied modalities
of instructional delivery.

This will be Texas’ fifth college with wrestling joining Wayland Baptist,
Texas Wesleyan(Both NAIA), Schreiner University, and Texas Woman’s University.
