Texas Prep State Champion Jaren Powell has announced he’s headed to Arizona State to wrestle for the Sun Devils.
Powell wrestles for Liberty Christian School and was a prep state champion the last two years at 145 and 138. In 2019 he wrestled for Burleson Centennial and finished 3rd in 5A. He is ranked #14 in the Texas pound for pound rankings and #1 in at 145 pounds.
Arizona State is led by Zeke Jones and finished 4th at the NCAA tournament last season.
Powell was coached by Oklahoma State legend and two-time NCAA Champion Johny Hendricks.
