Jack Mueller Lone Texan Placer @ Senior Nationals Freestyle

Jack Mueller @ 57kg was the lone Texan placer @ Senior Nationals Freestyle.  With 12 wrestler competing, all in college or older, this tournament had all the top guys nationally ranked.  Jack Mueller the #4 seed who is ranked in the senior division placed 3rd.  Mueller tech falled everyone in his path until he got to the #1 seed Vitali Arujau who wasnt scored upon till he tangled with Mueller.  Mueller took the loss and then defeated the #3 seed Frank Perrelli in the consolation semi finals by a fall in the 2nd period putting Mueller into the 3rd place bout with Sean Russell whom he defeated as well in an 8-3 decision.
Quentin Perez @ 74kg made it to the blood round before his exit from the tournament.  Perez ran into the #3 seed Anthony Valencia in the 2nd round who sent him to the consolation side.  There Perez reeled off 4 straight wins including one over fellow Texan,  Aaron Goldman before losing to Joey Lavallee in the blood round.
Nick Reenan was the other wrestler @ 97kg that made it to the blood round.  Reenan had a bye the first round before he lost in the 2nd round to Jakob Woodley by decision which kept us from seeing him wrestle the Olympic Champ Kyle Snyder.  Reenan won 2 more matches on the consolation side before taking a loss to Ty Walz 1 match short of placing.
