Exhibition Match Results from the Olympic Qualifier

There ended up being more matches than originally planned, which was great,  got over 500 photos, it was hard to keep up with who all won especially on the little guys that I dont know. there was some great matches, and for a last minute put together it came out alright and how Awesome for the boys to say they got to wrestle on the same mats that a potential Olympic Champ might have wrestled on.  I believe Thanks is due to Rick Dellagatta for putting this all together

Here is a run down of some of the Matches

Trent Dooley of Allen (State Qualifier @ 126lb-6A) squared off with Gabe Costa from Prosper (5A State Champ @ 120lb) and Dooley takes the win 9-2

Alonzo Herrera of Allen (4th @ State 6A 120lb) took on Adam Maesta of McKinney Boyd (5th @ State 113lb 6A) and won, I didnt catch the score.

The battle of the 132lb 2nd place State finishers Blaine Martinez of Keller Central (2nd @ State 132lb 6A) took on Virley Sessions of Frisco Liberty (2nd @ State 132lb 5A), I believe the score was 7-2 Martinez.

A match up of Region 1 wrestlers at 138lb 6A saw state qualifier Cameron Haddock of Southlake Carroll defeat Keller Centrals DeMone McClintock 16-3.

Weighing in @ 140lbs Taylor Parks of Arlington Bowie (3rd @State 6A 132lb) wrestled Jacob Hart of Keller Central (State Qualifier @ 126 6A) and won in a tight score.

5A State Champ @ 152lbs Jordan Robison of Frisco Liberty wrestled Austin Fox of Timbercreek (5th @ State 152lb 6A). Robison takes the major 8-0.

The 160lb weight had State runner up @ 6A-160lbs,  Jack Duval of Southlake Carroll take on the 2x 5A State Champ @ 160 Zach Diaz of the Boys Ranch, it a tight battle for 3 periods, Duval gets the takedown for the win in the last few seconds 6-4

Chase Carter who was unranked at the start of Regionals took 5th @ State 132lb 6A, took on Gabe Costa of Prosper (5A State Champ @ 120lb) wrestling his 2nd match, Carter gets the fall.

2x 6A State Champ @ 138lb Kennedy Monday of Arlington Martin took on 5A State Champ @ 138lbs Jacob Moore of Frisco Centennial, Monday dominated the match,  with a tech fall I believe.

Last but not least. the battle of the 5A and 6A, 2x State Champions @ 182lbs Dalton Miller of Allen and Luke Hodsden of Dripping Springs.  The match didnt disappoint and had its drama. In the 1st period both tried several takedowns and scrambles with no luck and with 5 sec left in the 1st period Miller hits a headlock and throws Hodsden to the Mat, 2pt takedown 2 near fall right?  WRONG.. the whistle had blew @ the 5 sec mark because the Referee heard the score keeper holler out 5 (was counting down, 5,4,3,2,1). Well the 5 did sound like TIME. but the whistle blew match stops, NO POINTS. Thats how the 1st period ended. 0-0..  2nd period ended with Miller up 3-2. Hodsden chooses down in the 3rd, and with the escape score tied 3-3, Hodsden gets a late takedown with a Miller escape and thats how the match ends with Hodsden still undefeated Final Score 5-4
