This years Dual State will be held in El Paso with the 5A duals being held at Del Valle HS and the 6A duals being held at Pebble Hills HS.

6A Preview

With the absence of Allen this year it makes way for a new 6A Dual State Champion.  Will this be the year for Arlington Martin,  Katy, Franklin, Southlake Carroll or Vandegrift?  The 5 teams ranked in the top 10 for duals.  Eastwood is missing the duals this year as well leaving only 14 teams competing for the Dual State Championship.
Pool A-Each team will only have 2 duals.  Martin will be tested right off the start with Katy. New Braunfels will have a Bye.
Pool B– Will start out with Franklin and College Park,  Franklin is a top 10 team but College Park is coming off a strong showing at CFISD Tournament.  They should give Franklin all they can handle.  Flowermound and Westlake make up the other 2 teams in the pool.
Pool C-Southlake Carroll will have Coronado to start out with and Montwood will have Vandegrift.  Southlake and Vandegrift are the 2 ranked teams in this pool.
Pool D-Has the other Bye and starts out with the host school Pebble Hills going up against Klein while ranked SA Reagan waits their turn.
6A Dual State Pools and Schedule

5A Preview

With 10 teams out of 16 Ranked in Wrestlingtexas and Coaches Polls this will be a good test on how both ranking systems  are working.  Wrestlingtexas has Dripping Springs as the #1 Dual Team and the Coaches Poll has Frisco Centennial as the #1 Dual Team.
The host school Del Valle is #4 in both polls and will have home field advantage.
Pool A-Chapin will test out Dripping Springs the first round with Chisholm Trail and Highland Park making up the other 2 teams in the pool.
Pool B-Hanks will take on Corpus Christi Ray first round and Prosper who has been winning everywhere they go will take on RL Turner of Carrollton.
Pool C-Wrestlingtexas has Canyon Randall ranked #3 and Frisco Centennial ranked #13,  The Coaches Poll has it the other way with Centennial ranked #2 and Randall ranked #12.  They will settle who is right in the round.  first round is Randall and Veterans Memorial with Centennial taking on Fabens.
Pool D-Host school Del Valle is the top ranked team in this pool in both rankings. They will take on Sharyland Pioneer first round with Burges and Creekview as the other 2 teams in the pool.
