The new USA Team Texas Greco /Freestyle Director Coach Steve Horton makes his yearly trip to the Veterans World Greco/Freestyle Championships. This year it is in Bulgaria, Greco competition didn’t turn out the way Coach Horton wanted with 2 world champions on his side of the bracket. Results show that he was right there through0ut his matches losing by 1 pt in both cases.
Freestyle will be coming up, you can follow Coach Hortons progress on trackwrestling. Last year Coach Horton place 2nd in the Freestyle Competition.

Greco is over for today, and I didn’t come away with the results I wanted. But, I was happy with my wrestling and my efforts! I had a nice headlock for a pin, but came up short against a multiple time world champ in the quarterfinals 2-1 in a brutal, tough match. Then in my first repecharge (wrestle back), I had the other multiple times champ and dropped another hard fought match 1-0.
Any one of us would have cruised to the finals in the top half of the bracket, but the blind draw had us grouped together. Nothing to do but get in the fight and see what happens!
