Kamille Begeal and Hailey DeLeon fresh off a 3rd place Reno Worlds Finish last weekend are this weeks Wrestlingtexas Wrestlers of the Week.

started wrestling as a freshman at Steele High School, and she absolutely fell in love with the sport! She worked her way to Varsity her freshman year, and finished her rookie season with a 15-16 record. As a sophomore, she wrestled up a weight class and competed on Varsity with a record of 31-14. She finished 3rd in district at 128, and qualified for regional competition. Now, in her junior year and third wrestling season, she competes at the 119 Varsity weight class and is the Girls’ Team Captain. She finished the regular season with a record of 35-7, a 1st place finish at District, and a 5th place/State Alternate finish for Region. She looks forward to the growth opportunities in the remainder of her high school wrestling career, and is excited about the opportunity to wrestle in college. This past weekend, Kamille competed at Flo Reno Worlds Girls Championships in Nevada for her wrestling club, NB Elite. She completed the tournament with a 3rd place finish in the 115 weight class. She dropped an early match, but battled back through consolation to win the 3rd place match. This was a very intense competition and she worked hard to represent her club well.
Hailey DeLeon is a 17 year old Junior at James Madison high school in San Antonio, Texas. She started wrestling just her Sophomore year (weight class 110). Fell in love with the sport and joined NB Elite to hone in wrestling technique and skill. Has been consistently competing year round. First year Reno competitor and placed 3rd at weight class 108 for 18 and under. She dropped her first match by decision but battled her way through the consolation bracket and pinned Angelita Sanchez (California) for 3rd pace. Hailey got to challenge for true 2nd but fell short by 2-0 decision to California State placer Catli Tran.
Both Hailey DeLeon and Kamille Begeal represented NB Elite at Reno and finished 5th out of 47 teams in Team Standings.  Congrats to both girls and continue success,
