The 19th Annual CY Fair ISD Invitational is back.
Hosted by Tim Ray and Houston Cyp-Ridge High School being held at the Berry Center in Cypress Texas.
Every year excluding last year obviously, The CFISD tournament has been the largest high school tournament in the state and possibly in the USA as a in state UIL only high school tournament. Meaning Prep teams will not be in the competition.
Even though it’s the largest and an awesome tournament the top teams were always somewhere else. Well not this year folks as we have 16 of the top 20 6A teams making the trip along with a couple of the top 5A teams.
Most of the top 5A teams are from the panhandle area and not making the trip south. Out of the 81 teams strong Allen High School and College Park will head line this tournament. With the number of top teams in attendance it will be interesting to see how they play out.
Will Allen run away with the tournament? Or will College Park being in their back yard step up already having seen Allen last week at the Outlaw?
Out of the 81 strong teams registered to attend 221 of those wrestlers are top 20 ranked, YES, 221 wrestlers with 40-5A & 181-6A top 20 wrestlers if they all show up.
The weakest weight if you can call it that is 132lbs only has 11 top 20 wrestlers while the strongest weight is 152lbs with 20 top 20 wrestlers.
