This weekend there will be a few scattered local tournaments for Varsity as most every team in Texas is gearing up for Districts starting next Wednesday. Districts is where we get the final word on who is wrestling and who isn’t, what weight certain wrestlers will settle at, the final answer for the road to state.
Below are some of the tournaments being held.
Texas Prep State being held @ St Thomas in Houston. This is the tournament that qualifies the top 3 for Prep Nationals.
Clear Creek Open @ Clear Creek High School – Carlisle Gymnasium in League City (DFW) small local boys and girls tournament.
7th Annual Andy Garcia Memorial Tournament @ Eldorado High School in El Paso is a boys and girls tournament with some of the local El Paso teams.
Keller Invitational @ Keller High School in Keller is a girls tournament with the local area DFW teams.
All the JV district tournaments will finish up this weekend as well.
The Lone Star Nationals will be the largest youth tournament this weekend, a battle for the belt in the IronMan Tournament Series being held at the Las Colinas Convention Center in Irving Texas.
