Attention Texas State Champs

All state champions invited to High School National Recruiting Showcase on March 26-28, others can qualify at eight qualifiers during March 12-21 period

Due to the numerous postponements, changes and cancellations to the traditional high school season caused by the pandemic, USA Wrestling has developed a new series of competitions to give high school boys and girls from across the nation a chance to showcase their talents on a national level.

The pinnacle of the series is the new USA Wrestling High School National Recruiting Showcase, which will be held the weekend of March 26-28. This event will be absolutely loaded with talent.

  • All state champions and National Prep champions (any year) will automatically qualify for the High School National Recruiting Showcase for both boys and girls (They would not need to attend a qualifier). All previous state champions and National Prep champions MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THE NATIONAL RECRUITING SHOWCASE BY MARCH 1 to guarantee their spot.

  • State champions are defined as state association sanctioned state champions for boys, and both state association sanctioned champions and recognized unofficial state champions for girls.

  • For high school boys, competition will be in folkstyle (also known as scholastic wrestling), while high school girls will compete in freestyle, the style contested in college and at the international levels.

  • The intent of the series is to provide unrestricted access for every college coach and recruiter to the single-highest concentration of high school talent, with every match available online through host broadcaster Trackwrestling.

  • The location for the High School National Recruiting Showcase is being finalized, and will be announced immediately when it is available. Official websites, with schedule, registration link and other event details, will be provided shortly.

  • High school wrestlers who have not won a state title or Prep National title can qualify to compete through eight National Recruiting Showcase Qualifiers held earlier in March.

The eight USA Wrestling National Recruiting Showcase Qualifiers will be held in strategic locations across the nation during the 10-day period of March 12-21. Each National Recruiting Showcase Qualifier is open to all high school athletes from any state, giving wrestlers an option to compete in the most convenient location.

  • The top five place winners in each weight class in the eight qualifiers will earn a spot in the High School National Recruiting Showcase.

  • Dates of each National Recruiting Showcase Qualifier may be different from others, based upon the location.

  • The locations and dates for the eight National Recruiting Showcase Qualifiers are being finalized, with the official websites, schedules and registration links announced immediately as they are confirmed.

  • As with the eight qualifiers, the High School National Recruiting Showcase will be broadcast by Trackwrestling.

For the girl high school wrestlers, this presents a special opportunity to compete for national titles in two major USA Wrestling events during the same weekend.

  • The High School National Recruiting Showcase will be held alongside the annual USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle Nationals, which will be in the same city and venue.

  • The USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle Nationals is open to girls from a number of age-groups without pre-qualification required.

  • High school girls who qualify for the National Recruiting Showcase in freestyle will have the opportunity to compete in the USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle Nationals on the day prior. This will allow many high school girls a unique chance to win two USA Wrestling national titles during the same weekend.

  • The USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle Nationals will be broadcast by FloWrestling

  • Information on the USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle Nationals will be announced in a separate release.  Official websites, with schedule, registration link and other event details, will be provided shortly.

As with all events on the USA Wrestling national schedule, this series will be conducted following the requirements of the state and local health authorities, as well as using the safety provisions of the USA Wrestling Return to Events Guidelines. USA Wrestling and the local organizers will monitor data and local trends closely leading up to the event.
