Allen Wrestling a Texas Dynasty

Love them or hate them one has to take their hats off to the  Allen Wrestling Program who set yet another record  on top of many in the 2019 State UIL Tournament with their 10th team consecutive title.  They had previously tied the Amarillo Caprock Women Team titles with 9 (2004-2012).   Starting next year they will have to take off their shoes and socks to keep counting the State Team Championships they have won.  I know that’s a bold statement for next year but the dynasty isn’t close to being over with Head Coach Jerry Best in his 17th year as head coach, Assistant Head Coach Todd Wyckoff @ 14 years, Assistant Josh Brining @ 3, and added this season Oliver Pierce who if you’ve noticed brings a lot of excitement to the coaching corner.
Allen will lose 7 state qualifying seniors, 2 champs and 5 placers for next season but have returning 3 champs, 2 placers, and 1 qualifier and who knows what new freshman sensations will climb aboard next season or JV wrestlers who have been waiting for their chance to move up.
Allen has also to my knowledge had the most NCAA-D1 National Championship qualifiers with Ophir Bernstein, Oliver Pierce, and Bo Nickal who is the Most Dominant Wrestler in the NCAA-D1 Nation this season going for his 3rd National Championship. The Allen team has had more International Placers, Fargo Champions, Fargo Placers and the list continues including 9 consecutive dual team state titles.

Congratulations to Jerry Best and the Allen Wrestling Team
