Allen traveled to Reno Nevada with a full team and a couple of back ups and came within 7 team points from winning the whole tournament placing 2nd, marking one of the biggest wins of a Texas team in a National Tournament at least in the last 10 years. Poway California ranked #17 beats #21 Allen 207-201. #40 ranked Pomona Colorado comes in 3rd at 172. Allen goes in with nationally ranked #5 Braxton Brown and #8 Trent Dooley leading the way with Brown losing a close 3-2 decision in the finals@ 106 to the #1 ranked wrestler in the nation Stevo Poulin (Shenendehowa NY), and Trent Dooley @ 138 comes away with his 2th national tournament win this season. 6 wrestlers placed in all.
126-Gabe Martinez placed 4th
132- Noah Yeamans placed 5th
160-Elise Brown Ton placed 4th
285-Johnny Green placed 7th
El Paso Franklin also made the trip with a partial team of only 6 wrestlers with a couple of wrestlers making it to the blood round before exiting. Adrian Zubia @ 132 lost in the quarters to the #2 seed then couldn’t get past the blood round. Adrian Rodriguez also got to the blood round and lost to the #7 seed. Kaleb Jewett started out with the #2 seed and ended with the #5 seed as his only loses. All the wrestlers had some quality wins and none went 0-2.
