The girls are now taking over Fargo and Texas has 90 women on the list traveling to compete. With 56 junior women and 34 16U women, Texas looks to better their last year’s performance of 11 All-Americans with 2 champions. The 2 champs were Hailey Delgado and Landri Von Gonten in the 16U division. Von Gonten didn’t attend this year since she is wrestling on the world team in the world championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. Delgado has returned b ut this year has moved up to the junior division.
The Juniors only had 3 All-Americans last year with only Kailin Sebert returning to better her 5th place performance from last year. Sebert also placed 5th in the 2024 16U division making her a returning 2x All-American.
Texas had 8-16U All-Americans last year with the 2 Champions, 5 of those All-Americans Katelynn Dockery-8th, Hailey Delgado-Champ, Blake Baker-5th, Shelby Wells-3rd, and Alyciana Rogers-5th will be competing in the junior division.
Blake Baker is other 2x All-American placing 4th in the 16U division in 2024.
The 16U division has 2 returning in Addison Hunt-8th, and Avery Fitzgerald-8th.
Texas nationally ranked girls are (per Flo) Noah Kovach #9@100, Hailey Delgado #3 @115, Jordyn Parker #10@140, Blake Baker #12@190, Shelby Wells #13@235, and Alyciana Rogers #17@235 in the junior division. Zaylynn Woods #11@130 is the only 16U nationally ranked wrestler.
Last years 16U girls finished 2nd as team Texas with 89 points, most all of those girls are now juniors, and with 56 wrestlers strong. They have an awesome chance of placing top 5 if not winning the whole thing. They will definitely do better then tied for 21st like last year with 21 points
Not to count out the 16U girls as they placed 2nd with only 36 wrestlers last year compared to 70 from 1st place Pennsylvania, 3rd place Oklahoma with 44, and 4th place California with 51.
