The 16U boys started the day off with a round of consolation. 32 Texas wrestlers made day 2 with 12 on the championship side and only 3 make it to day 3. Mason Milsaps at 126lbs and Vinny Ferrari at 144lbs are still on the championship side sitting in the quarterfinals and Maddox Fields makes day 3 in the consolation.
Mason Milsaps will face Arturo Reyes of Team Pennsylvania who is unranked. Milsaps is ranked #18 nationally at 132lbs on Mat Scouts. A win puts Milsaps into the semifinals and guaranteed All-American.
Vinny Ferrari will face the #3 seed in Gavin Cantera of Team Ohio who isn’t ranked nationally, Like Milsaps, a win put Ferrari into the semifinals and guaranteed All-American.
Maddox Fields after losing in the round of 16 is the only wrestler to win on the consolation side after losing in the round of 16. Fields in the consolation round of 16 get the win to make day 3 and will face Antonio Guebara of Team Kansas in his first match tomorrow. Fields is 2 wins away from All-American
