  • Only 3 Junior Boys wrestlers left for Day 3, including Mikey Ruiz, Cayden Rios, and Aiden Cooley
  • 16U wrestlers Oliver Pulliam and Izayiah Chavez advanced to quarter finals
  • 16U and Junior boys will wrestle simultaneously on Wednesday
  • Texas boys put up a good fight, with some winning matches in final seconds
  • Detailed matchups for remaining Junior and 16U boys wrestlers

Day 4 of men’s freestyle is in the books and the Junior Boys didn’t fare so good with only 4 wrestlers left to make day 3.  Mikey Ruiz @ 126lbs is the lone quarterfinalist with Cayden Rios @ 138lbs Jared Remington @ 165lbs, and Aiden Cooley @ 215lbs still alive on the consolation side.

The 16U did 1 better on making the quarter finals as Oliver Pulliam @ 113lbs and Izayiah Chavez @ 120lbs both made the quarter finals, while the 2 Hunters, Hunter Gordan and Hunter Avalos both @ 144lbs, are all both on the consolation side with 2 more wins needed to All American.  The 16U boys total 4 wrestlers making day 3.

Wednesday the 16U and the Junior boys will both wrestle at the same times with the medal matches starting at 3pm and the finals starting at 5:30pm.

Watching the matches live most of the day I can say that the Texas boys didn’t loss without a fight.  There were some great matches, with some getting the fall in the final seconds to advance when they were losing on the score board.
