  • Team Texas competed at the boys Junior National Greco Roman Duals against various states
  • Texas had to make adjustments due to last-minute drops and weight changes
  • Despite some losses, Texas managed to secure a win against Arizona
  • Individual performances by Texas wrestlers were highlighted, including those who remained undefeated
  • Texas ended the first day of competition in the Green Pool with mixed results, preparing for the remaining duals on the following day

The boys Junior National Duals started today with the Greco Roman duals and Team Texas was in Pool A with a first-round bye facing Team Georgia in the quarter finals.  Pool A bracket had 10 teams total, while the other 3 pools only had 8 teams making it 34 teams total with 30 states.

California, Kansas, Minnesota, and Ohio were the states with 2 teams.

Texas had almost a full line up but after weigh-ins 4 more wrestlers dropped that were on the list previously.  Christian Aguirre @ 106, Mathew Brock @ 120, Henry Figueroa @ 138, and Faris Price @ 285.  John Marriott does add to the team though.

So, 106, 120, 165, 175, and 285 are open spots, however, 2 wrestlers at 100 and 113 so one could bump up to 106 and 120.  At 157 one could bump up to 165.  175lbs would be a true open unless somewhere in the 138 and 144 weights were there are 2 wrestlers all moved up a weight, then 175 is covered.  285lb weight could have Cash Cooley bump up with one of the 190lbs wrestlers moving up.

As we go through each dual, we will see how Coach Leeth moves the wrestlers around.
