14U Team Texas Day 1 Freestyle Update

14U National Freestyle Duals started today and Team Texas was in the Pool A, the largest pool/bracket with 12 teams while the other 3 Pools only had 10 teams.  However, Texas still got a bye the first round.

This dual tournament had 42 teams with 33 different states entered.  One notable is that Team Rhode Island had 2 teams here with no teams in the 16U.  Alabama was another state that didn’t have a 16U team.

Team Texas had Team New York Gold in their first dual and Texas wins easily 64-16 to start their freestyle dual journey.

Next up was Team Illinois who beats Texas 50-26 to put them in the consolation finals against Iowa Red who handled Missouri with ease.

Texas with a come from behind win beats Iowa Red to advance to the 3rd place match hoping for a chance to wrestle for true 2nd.
