WEEK 9 and less than one month to districts. Wrestlers are trimming down to their state-run weight. With CFISD and OUTLAW tournaments we had some major individual ranking changes. Some wrestlers just bumped up a weight to check the waters while others used the 2-pound allowance to go down a weight. We had some new #1’s and multiple #1’s barely holding on to their #1 spot.
Texas has 16 registered tournaments this weekend along with 4 dual setting tournaments making this weekend one with the most competition since the season started. Some tournaments are huge and some are small but almost every team in Texas is wrestling somewhere. The top 3 boys 6A teams Martin and Allen weather permitting go to Oklahoma this weekend and College Park stays in Houston area. The top 3 boys 5A teams are all in Oklahoma. Canyon Randall, Tascosa, and Melissa. The top 6A girls teams Allen and El Paso Eastwood are in DFW while College Park who is still #1 stays home in Houston. The 5A girls Azle and Frisco are staying in the DFW area while Lampasas new to the top 3 goes to Austin.
