At 113-weight class we are looking forward to the collision course of Noah Magana of Eastwood ranked #12 and Alexander Tapia of Franklin #11 ranked in the state in the finals. Tapia gets the 1st period falls over Reyes of Hanks and Rodriguez of Chapin who is ranked #11 in the state in 5A. Magana gets the falls over Moralez of El Paso High, Lopez of Ysleta, and Casillas of Del Valle currently ranked #10 in 5A. Now for the match up we have been anticipating is underway. Tapia strikes first with a takedown at the 1-minute mark, Magana escapes quickly and ends the period Tapia up 2-1. In the 2nd Magana defers and Tapia chooses bottom, Tapia escapes, Magana fires off an attack and manages to catch Tapia and put him on his back for the fall with time running down in the 2nd period.
