Preseason Folkstyle Nationals has moved this year. Its still in Iowa but now its located in the city Des Moines @ the Iowa Events Center instead of the Uni Dome in Cedar Rapids.
Texas is gonna take the Pre Season Folkstyle Nationals by storm this coming weekend with over 190 wrestlers from over 25 different wrestling clubs in a tournament with 1575 wrestlers total in the high school division and 1274 wrestling in the youth division and 208 women, with the high school boys wrestling on Saturday and the youth and girls on Sunday. Last year at this tournament Texas had 3 champions and multiple placers.
There is 40 girls total registered from Texas to wrestle and only 31 youth wrestlers competing which leaves 118 boys wrestling the cadet and junior divisions. Texas has 13 high school boy wrestlers in the junior division alone @ 132 the and 11 at the 138lb division.
The deepest brackets will be in the cadet division @ 120 with 113 wrestlers registered and next deepest would be the 106 pound cadets. The largest brackets for the juniors will be at 145 with 97 and 138 with 95. The smallest bracket for the juniors is at 106 with 10 wrestlers and the cadets smallest bracket is 285 with only 4 wrestlers.
