Pre Season Nationals and Recruiting Showcase Results. 7 Champions and 48 All-Americans in Iowa

Texas had a busy weekend in Iowa at the Preseason Nationals and the Recruiting Showcase with the final count of Texas wrestlers at 255 officially wrestling. With 48 total placers.  Texas had 7 champions total between all the wrestlers.  The 11th/12th grade boys was the biggest entries for Texas with 92 total wrestlers with the high school girls coming in 2nd with 62 total wrestlers weighed in. 

Below we break down between divisions

Showcase Recruiting ChampionshipTexas had 5 placers at this tournament out of 18 wrestlers entered.  State champ and #1 seed Karson Tompkins of Midlothian went 4-0 to claim his showcase championship.  Along with another state champ and #3 seed Rodney Trotter of Katy high school going 2-0 to take a championship at 285lbs.  #4 seed Caio Aron of College Park went 4-2 to claim a 4th place finish at 120 lbs.  #5 seed Julian Garnica of Arlington Bowie high school went 3-3 and placed 6th at 138 lbs.  Along with Finn Shepard of Arlington Martin taking a 6th place finish at 145lbs
