5 Texans Win York Women's Open

York University hosted an NAIA Women’s College Open Tournament in York Nebraska which had 14 different teams from around the country.  3 of those teams were from Texas.  Wayland Baptist University, Texas Wesleyan University, and Schreiner University.  The other 11 teams seem to all have a Texan in their line up.  Out of the 10 weight divisions Texas had 7 women in the finals coming away with 5 champions.
Madison Brown of Texas Wesleyan was the first finalist at the 101 weight.  Brown had a first round bye before reeling off 2 tech falls including a win over another Texas wrestler Kassidy Ramirez who wrestles for Lyons College to reach the finals.  Brown loses narrowly in a 8-7 decision to take 2nd place.
Camille Fournier of Texas Wesleyan at the 116 weight division made it look easy by reeling off 3 wins to reach the finals. Winning all matches by fall except for 1 tech fall of 10-0 including in the finals where she got the fall in 2:49.
Jasmine Hernandez of Lyons College at the 123 weight had to win 4 matches to reach the finals.  Hernandez won all her matches with 4 tech falls and 1 fall including her finals win 10-0 to claim her championship.
Mea Mohler of Texas Wesleyan at 130lb division had a first round bye on her way to the finals.  Mohler matched up with Grand Views Isabella Gonzalez another Texan in the semi finals.  The win goes to Mohler then she receives a forfeit from another Texas wrestler De’Anna Prince of Wayland Baptist in the finals to claim her championship.
Lexi Basham of Texas Wesleyan at 136lb division had a first round bye also.  Then went through 2 Texas wrestlers including a re-match from senior nationals with Brigette Duty who wrestles for Cumberlands University in the semi finals.  Basham didnt cut it as close this time winning a 10-4 decision. Basham goes on to win a 10-0 tech fall in the finals to claim her championship.  Duty comes back to place 3rd over Jordan Suarez of Wayland Baptist.
Hunter Robinson of Grand View at 170lb division won her first match over fellow Texan from Schreiner University Mikayla Mata on her way to the finals where their was hope of Wayland Baptist’s Kaylynn Albrecht would be waiting. However Albrecht forfeited out the first round.  Robinson had a close match in the finals winning 2-0 for her championship.
