20th Annual CFISD Tournament – Boy’s recap

Living up to all the hype. This two-day marathon had all the drama of a major motion picture, the heartache of breaking up with your high school girlfriend, and the intensity of the state tournament which will be in the same building next month.

Wrestlers move up and down in weight. Key people not showing and teams on the NC/NS list. On top of all the Championship matches, there were tons of interesting, ranking potential matches, subplots, and swerves that I thought my head was going to explode. 6-1# ranked wrestlers took losses, the 132# bracket was something out of a gladiator movie, and at the end of the day in the last match of the tournament, my main man from Katy Rodney Trotter righted the wrong from the previous week and took back what was his. Here is how it all went down.

Wrestler Interviews

• Nicholas Gorman of Bryan

• Emma Thomas of Cypress Creek
• Riah Ostrander of Keller Timber Creek

• Aidan Shumate of Cypress Woods

• Karson Tompkins of Midlothian
