2023 UIL Girls Region 2-6A Championships Recap

It’s time to get it on. And the ladies are here to show their stuff. The top 4 will advance the rest it’s time to start working on freestyle season. To all my lady grapplers who toed the line for the last time fear not, you are brave for stepping up and taking the challenge. You represent all that is great in sports and life. You will all be dominant in whatever avenue you choose because you chose to lace them up and strap on the headgear. I wish you all the best. Now on to the team race.

1st Prosper Rock Hill 159 pts.

3 in the finals with one taking a regional championship, and 6 lady luchadores will be making the trip south to Cypress. Their top performers were Brooke Wieczorek 126 1st, Hadyn Stine 138 2nd, Audrey Walker 152 2nd, and Haby Adeogun 165 3rd.

2nd Allen 131.5 pts.

Lacking in numbers but not quality Allen had 3 in the finals and 3 regional champions. 5 Lady Eagles will be flying south for the state tournament. The top birds were Grace Romans 100 1st, Jasmine Robinson 152 1st, Esther Peters 235 1st, Laylia Liles 132 4th, and Cheyenne Kellison 126 4th.

3rd Klein Oak 106 pts.

With one in the finals and one Champion, Klein Oaks will be taking 2 wrestlers to the Berry Center next weekend, Top Dogs where Rylee Ferranti 185 1st, and Laita Perez 126 3rd.
