2018 Midwest Mat of Dreams Duals Texas Results

Sisters on the Mat after finishing up their tournament on Saturday split up into 3 dual teams for the Mat of Dream Duals.  The High School separated into 2 Teams,  Texas Green and Texas Yellow totaling 9 total teams in the high school duals with Colorado, Illinois, 2 Iowa Teams, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.  While the younger girls made up a team for the youth duals with 14 total teams including 2 Colorado Teams, Illinois, 2 Wisconsin Teams, 2 Minnesota Teams, 2 Iowa teams, 2 Nebraska Teams, North Dakota, and Oklahoma.  Every wrestler over the 2 day event got a minimum of 4 matches with some getting 8 matches making it a great preseason start for the Texas girls who competed.

Texas Youth Team finishes 2nd in the Silver pool.  All the duals were in a round robin.  The team lost 1 dual in the pool A to the Badger team.  Placing 2nd in their pool  put them into the silver pool where they lost 1 dual  to Minnesota which allows them to finish 6th place over all.

Texas Green Team cruised through their Pool beating Colorado, Iowa West, North Dakota, and Oklahoma to faced off with Illinois in the Championship Finals.  The dual finished in a 27-27 tie with the win going to Illinois on criteria making it a 28-27 final dual score.  Texas Green settles for 2nd place overall.

Texas Yellow Team finishes up with a 3rd place team finish defeating Team Iowa 31-30 in the Consolation bracket, it came down to Daniella Seely’s fall to tie the team score at 30-30, and Texas wins on the tie breaker criteria which was Seely’s fall that also won on the criteria giving Texas 4 falls to Iowa’s 3 falls.  Overall Texas Yellow finishes 6th out of the 9 teams.
