As time ran out, both wrestlers collapsed to the mat – face down, not moving. The coaches corners, however, told the story. Coaches Clint Chamblin and Chris Holzworth started the celebration immediately, as Dumas edged Canyon Randall 92-91 to win the title. Randall had an opportunity to pad their lead earlier in the day, with major decisions in the 106 and 126lb finals, but couldn’t get the pins they needed to get past Dumas.
Third place will be decided by the winner of the 220 pound match – in progress now. Frisco Centennial has 84 points and top ranked Noah Sims battling Frisco Liberty’s Blaine Rowe. Liberty has 82 team points.
