Everyone was predicting a Monday/Brown finals match, a repeat of last year at 106, #1 Quincey Monday held up on his end of the deal defeating #4 Kchrys Maban of Conroe Oak Ridge in the semi finals, but #6 Ty`Rae Carter of Houston Westside changed the outcome when he not only defeated #3 Christian Moreno of Austin Bowie 10-8, he also defeated #2 Logan Brown 5-4 in the semi finals match to meet up with Monday in the finals who won his 2nd consecutive State Title by a 8-2 decision over Carter.  Brown won over Moreno for 3rd 4-2.

Thompson made it past #2 Manderfield in the semi finals when Manderfield had to forfeit when he got injured. Ordaz who beat #10 Herrera in the first match of the day 5-0 met him again in the 3rd place match this time getting the fall in the 3rd period to take 3rd place. The finals battle here in my opinion was the best, we saw #1 Juwan Robinson returning State Champ pin his way to the finals not goin 1 min in any match, falls of 51 sec, 40 sec and 17 sec in the semi finals. On the other side of the bracket we saw #2 Dylanger Potter of Arlington Martin didnt have any trouble till the semi finals match where he barely gets by #5 Stephen Dieb of Dallas Highland Park 4-3. In the finals it started out like Juwan was gonna make quick work of Potter with a quick takedown and release, afterwards the scrambles started, Potter caught Robinson on his back, than Robinson gets hurt, Robinson gets a couple of take downs to tie the match and go into overtime, Robinson shoots, they both scramble and Potter gets the call for the takedown. This time we saw the #1 & #2 meet in the finals. #1 Austin Brandt of Amarillo met #2 Dalton Miller of Allen, Miller a returning State Champ from 170 a year ago, Brandt made the #1 move when they had a common lost to an Oklahoma Plainview wrestler that Brandt did better against, Miller Pinned his way to the finals while Brandt tech falled and pinned his way to the finals.  After some blood loose from Brandt, Miller takes another State Championship with a 1-0 decision.  #3 Ryan Medrano of El Paso Coronado takes 3rd over #4 Henry Rossiter of Houston Cy-Woods.
