SARAJEVO, Bosnia- The first five U.S. women’s freestyle wrestlers have weighed in and received draws for the third day of the 2015 UWW Cadet World Championships on Thursday. This event features the world’s best 15-17 year old wrestlers.
All of the American wrestlers on this year’s UWW Cadet World Team are competing in their first World Championships.
Two of the athletes competing on Thursday won silver medals at the 2015 Pan American Cadet Championships, Jessica Rudick of Pennsylvania at 38 kg and Alexandria Liles of Texas at 56 kg.
Rudick opens her competition against Cansu Yilmaz of Turkey, while Liles will face Krystsina Sazykina of Belarus in the first round.
The other three wrestlers competing on Thursday had very impressive efforts at the USA Wrestling Cadet and Junior Nationals in Fargo, N.D. earlier this summer.

Ronna Heaton of South Dakota, wrestling at 49 kg, was a Fargo Junior champion and second in the Cadet division. Her first opponent is Esra Pul of Turkey.
2015 Junior Nationals runner-up Kayla Marano of Oklahoma will face Siyka Ivanova of Bulgaria in her opener at 65 kg. Marano is the daughter of two-time World champion and nine-time World medalist Kristie Davis.
Coaching the U.S. women’s team is Assistant National Women’s Coach Erin Tomeo of Colorado Springs, Colo., plus World Team coaches Brent Barnes of Lake Stevens, Wash. and Andrea Yamamoto of Richland, Wash.
