This year Texas has 101 wrestlers and 22 coaches making the journey north to Fargo North Dakota for the 16U and Junior National Championships that will be kicking off 1 week from today. On Saturday July 17th the women and 16U boys get things started in the Freestyle division and will conclude on Friday July 23rd with the Junior Boys Greco Roman Finals.
Below is a list of all 101 wrestlers and coaches. Coach Ray Bedford the head coach for Texas Wesleyan University is leading the group. The junior boys have at least 7 state champs in their roster and the girls team is loaded as usual.
Some notables to watch is Plano West wrestlers Troy Spratley and Tagen Jamison along with Allen’s Kade Moore. Neither have been beaten in national competition this past year and Spratley is ranked 3rd nationally at 126 while Moore and Jamison are at the same weight at 138. Kenneth Hendriksen of Carrollton Creekview and Darwin Hull of Shertz Clemens state champs and are returning Fargo All Americans to watch as well.
The Women in the 16U and Juniors have multiple state champs with basically the whole team will be one to watch as Texas could place overall.
