We are down to the Championship Finals. Weights 103/106-130/132 are all on 1 poll sheet for easier voting. I try to give a small break down of each finals wrestlers. Are we having fun yet? Voting will end Saturday June 13th enjoy.
The 103/106 weight has come down to “2” Allen wrestlers in the finals a freshman Braxton Brown up against a junior Alex Legrande. Legrande has to be the tallest 103lber in UIL History.
The 112/113 class has Braxton Brown of Allen from the 2020 season where Brown is the 4th best wrestler in the nation at this weight going against Braun Marquez of Canyon Randall a senior capturing his 2nd state championship.
119/120 weight class has Christian Moreno a 2018 senior from Austin Bowie going up against Nick Herrmann his senior year at 2012. Oh and this is the year/season that Herrmann becomes the 1st UIL 4x State champion.
125/126 weight class features a 2020 Donavan Whitted of Arlington Martin whom just secured his 2nd State championship after bumping up from 106 the previous season to 126 will face off against 2010 Cody Curtiss of Frisco Centennial whom that year had beating Jarrod Trotter in OT at a dual back when teams would actually still dual Allen Wrestling.
130/132 weight classes has 2018 champ Daniel Leal of CC Veterans Memorial going up against 2009 Eric “Coach” Spjut of the Woodlands in his 2009 senior year where he was undefeated and earning his 3rd state championship in a single class.
