#1-5A and #1-6A Duals State Champions Dual it Out.

A time of preparation and anticipation before districts set the stage for the much-awaited Arlington Martin/Melissa High School Dual. A show of this magnitude between schools has long been awaited by the Texas wrestling community for some time to come. Never in Texas high school wrestling history have two top tier programs come together for a head-to-head showdown to demonstrate who exactly has the toughest squad in the state bar none. For the first time ever, we have the #1 5A Dual State Champions and the #1 6A Dual State Champs come together to mash it out on Melissa High’s Senior Night and the hometown crowd came out in full force A significant presence from Melissa’s administration, including the superintendent, principal, athletic director, and Athletic Operations Director, graced the event, with rumors circulating about the attendance of a few city council members. Each of them exhibited a cordial demeanor and willingly engaged in discussions about the future of wrestling, especially in the context of Melissa’s emerging program. Head Coach Oliver Peirce, a young and promising leader, spearheads the development of a future competitive 6A program. The program’s promising trajectory suggests that it will continue to cultivate exceptional talent for the wrestling arena in the foreseeable times ahead.
